Hello and Best wishes for a Happy 2011

We held our 2008 Spitfire Challenge wheelchair basketball tournament
in Toronto at the Etobicoke Olympium 590 Rathburn Road, August 1 to August 4 2008.

It was a 4 day tournament.

I would like to thank all teams, game officials and volunteers for coming to Toronto and participating in our 2008 Spitfire Challenge

We had a total of 19 Teams, 61 Games (Every team played on all 4 days and played at least 6 games during the weekend). We also had two exhibition women's division games. One between Mexico and Great Britain  August 1st (To help sort out timing of the games and get the scoring table up to speed on IWBF) and another on August 4th full team Germany vs. full team Canada.

We would like to thank our game officials David Bell USA, Haywood Hill USA, Frances Kremarik Canada, Trevor Kerr Canada, Jeff Van Eenoo Canada, Victor Reyes Mexico, Max Kindervater Germany, Bob Lloyd Great Britain, Bob Bhania Great Britain and Christofer Behre Sweden. Each worked 3 or 4 games on all four days of the Challenge with a total of 13 or 14 games each.

We played Spitfire Challenge rules in the 12 team Open Conference games. The games were completed in 90 minutes.

In the Women’s conference, in order to get all the games in within the time we had at the gym we  shortened the warm up time to 10 minutes, half time to 10 minutes and 1 minute between periods. This  allowed 100 minutes per game

I want to thank Remington Homes, Coloplast, Bulova Watches, RGK wheelchairs, Home Hardware, Henkel Canada, Kalyn Gifts, Kenda tires, RGK North America - Reg Mc Clellan and Chantal Benoit for their financial & product support.

To all the volunteers, bus drivers, game officials, teams helping at the score tables.

Thank you so much for attending the Spitfire Challenge and helping out. No event this size can be organized without people like you. We are in your gratitude.

Thanks for coming,

Michael C. Bryce

I want to thank everyone who contacted us about entering the Challenge even after we were full and could not accept anymore teams.

We will host another Challenge in 2011.

Contact me if you would like to enter a team.
